About Me

Pottery is my play job around my day job in TV. I went part-time back in 2019 to create more space for it and get out of my head, and my hands into clay.

TV is entirely to blame for how I got started, more precisely, The Great Pottery Throw Down. I watched a series, booked a throwing taster session, and signed up for evening classes not long after, back in May 2017.

Those classes are the origin of my maker's mark. Our Wednesday class were allocated a lightning bolt symbol to mark their pots with, alongside their initials - a simple way for our tutors to tell which class each pot came from. Mine has stayed with me as a nod to those early days of discovering the joy of pottery.

I moved from Brixton in South London to Bristol at the end of 2021, having previously been a member at Parade Mews Studios in Tulse Hill. After a spell as a member at Clay Shed in Bristol, I set up my own garden studio, where I now continue to learn the ropes of managing my own studio space, one firing at a time.

My Work

My work is a mix of tableware for your everyday rituals, and homeware to bring a bit of considered calm to your space.

My core style is minimal, often with straight lines, clean edges, a limited colour palette and finishes. I work with speckled stoneware and often leave sections of clay exposed - adding contrast and texture.

I have two collections:

On Form Collection: Where most of my focus goes, considered designs and colour palette that are firm favourites.

Off Form Collection: my testing ground, where I make time to play with looser shapes and glaze experiments, often in small, limited batches.
